One Night of Temptation by Darcy Burke

This is amusing, romantic, entertaining and sweet. When Penelope doesn't find a husband at the end of the season, her parents decide to marry her off to the man who at one time was to be her father-in-law. Pen wants nothing to do with the old lecher, so she sets up a kidnapping, thinking that she'll be ruined and the old man wouldn't want her anymore. The problem with that is that she actually gets kidnapped, and Hugh, the rector in St. Giles, rescues her. She tells him why she is doing it and he agrees to help. A strong attraction between them tortures them because neither think it's possible for them to marry. And while Hugh is doing his best to be a gentleman, Pen is trying to get him to actually ruin her. Things don't go the way they're supposed to, a few twists dictate their actions. Pen is great, she's bold, determined and flirty. Hugh is stubborn, chivalrous and caring.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
