Brody's Bride by Kathleen Lawless

This is intense, suspenseful and romantic. Brody and Laura fell in love as teens, but Laura broke Brody's heart, humiliating him in front of a town full of people, and then leaving town. She had a good reason for what she did, but she couldn't tell him that. Ten years later she overhears a conversation about a man by the name of Hawkes who is planning to destroy Brody and his brothers and take the ranch they own. She comes back to town to be the new teacher hoping that she can find out information for Brody about Hawkes plans, her boss being Hawkes. Brody is not pleased to see her, and she tries to stay away from him so that she doesn't cause more problems for him. But there's so much intrigue and drsma going on that they can't help but see each other. Brody is a determined, caring and protective man. Laura is a stubborn, impulsive and impatient woman. The only thing that I didn't like was that the end didn't have everything wrapped up.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
