My Secret and The Earl by Joanne Wadsworth

This is dramatic, romantic and suspenseful. Winterly is charming, chivalrous and sweet. Rosamonde is dutiful, stubborn and brave. When Richard arrives at his best friend Avery's home to find that Avery's sister is betrothed to a monster, he suddenly funds himself feeling protective and possessive of her. Both Avery and Winterly know that there was no way Rosamonde would willingly agree to marry Roth, and it takes Winterly and Avery insisting that Winterly would just kidnap her and bring her to Gretna Green to tell all. Then it's a battle of wills between Winterly and Roth. A surprise twist and shocking ending tie things up very neatly.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
