To Tempt An Earl by Tamara Gill

This is entertaining, amusing and interesting. Hamish is stubborn, charming and unwilling to change. Katherine is smart, outgoing and determined. They had friends in common, but did not really talk to each other, until she saved him a beating by vouching for him at an inn. Then, when his house burns, he hires her father's company to rebuild it, which put them in closer contact, because she manages the site. She knows she's too old to marry, and she finds him attractive, so she asks him for one night, so she at least gets to experience what happens in the marriage bed. He refuses, and avoids her, so she teases and tempts him, then says she'll get someone else. He doesn't like that idea, but he doesn't want to be responsible for her ruin, and he won't marry her. But he does finally give in and they start an affair. But when they get caught he runs away to his country estate. He really is a cad for most of the book, but he doesn't come across as a jerk.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
