The Outlaw Highlander by Blanche Dabney

This is an intriguing, unpredictable and entertaining. Tavish is kind, chivalrous and honorable. Lindsey is determined, bold and caring. Lindsey's mother has been obsessed with Tavish and his life, convinced that he was punished for a crime he didn't commit, so she bought his house with plans to restore it. When they run out of money, Lindsey's mother sends her on vacation. Lindsey took a boat out on the loch, and woke up in the past. Tavish saves her from drowning and takes responsibility for her, but he doesn't know whether he can trust her or not he can trust her. When Tavish explains his circumstances to her, she insists on helping him. They seem to have some kind of connection, but both realize that it wouldn't be a good idea to get close, she would be going back to her time eventually. Together they set off to get what they need to fix things, and there are some surprises waiting for them along the way. It's a must read.
