That Monroe Girl by Ilona Fridl

This is romantic, suspenseful, dramatic and full of intrigue. Jake is an equal mix of cowboy and nerd. He's a gentleman tough guy. Cat is brave, sometimes strong and has a sassy mouth. Cat finding her father doesn't start off well, he and one if her brothers are real losers. This is a captivating story that pulls at your heartstrings. It's well written with plenty of twists.

The characters are interesting, and I really liked Garrett, but I thought that Savannah was weak and ignorant. The sub story of Grady is great, I really enjoyed it. If you've read Bertrice Smalls Skye O'malley saga, it's like that. I just get bored after too much drama.

This is a moving love story about love and forgiveness. It's not for everyone, there are some disturbing actions aspects to the storyline, but it is a captivating and romantic story. Asher is a nerdy sadist who is getting bored with life, and is tired of hiding who he is. Sawyer is a masochist who feels guilty about being alive when his whole family is dead. Sawyer takes a job to be close to Asher, and the sparks fly immediately. While Asher tries to resist Sawyer, Sawyer is determined to have Asher give him what he needs. As they slowly open up to each other, they are helping themselves and each other. It's a heartwarming and intriguing story. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This book was gifted to me. This is a real rollercoaster ride, you never know what to believe, who to believe. It is a romantic drama, suspenseful thriller and dark horror all rolled into one. The characters vary from very sweet to seriously deranged. It's captivating, fascinating and engrossing. The end is not something you expect. Put this at the top of your TBR list.
