Heart of Stone by Dakota Willink

I gifted a copy of this book by the author. This is dramatic, engrossing, steamy and somewhat disturbing. I like Alex, he's a nice guy who has a painful past. I liked seeing the changes in him that Krystina brought about. I have mixed feelings about Krystina. I like her, but I don't like that she falls in line with Alex so easily after being in an abusive relationship. This is a good story and I got involved with the characters so much that I can't wait to read the next book.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
