Sniper by Savannah May

I was gifted a copy of this book from the author. This is dramatic, romantic, disturbing, dark and twisted. It is disgusting that this stuff actually happens. Elena is broken but not beaten, but she is very vulnerable. Dax is tough and determined, but also sweet and naive. The storyline is sad, the characters are either heroes or vile slugs. Dax rescuing Elena and the aftermath are extremely satisfying, as is the last time they see Roman. So while the subject matter is disturbing, it's a very good story.
