This is intense, suspenseful and romantic. Brody and Laura fell in love as teens, but Laura broke Brody's heart, humiliating him in front of a town full of people, and then leaving town. She had a good reason for what she did, but she couldn't tell him that. Ten years later she overhears a conversation about a man by the name of Hawkes who is planning to destroy Brody and his brothers and take the ranch they own. She comes back to town to be the new teacher hoping that she can find out information for Brody about Hawkes plans, her boss being Hawkes. Brody is not pleased to see her, and she tries to stay away from him so that she doesn't cause more problems for him. This is sweet, romantic, dramatic and heartwarming. Lance is an ex-con with a difficult past who just needs someone to give him a real chance at life. He finds that chance on Charlie's ranch, then with Charlie. Charlie is a simple ranch girl who only wants to run her ranch, but she's on the verge of being a billionaire. A trust fund from her father will soon be hers, money she doesn't want. Charlie is determined to remain who she is, so even after falling for Lance, she neglects to tell him about the money, and when he finds out he leaves. Two stubborn and vulnerable people, a heartbreaking past and money form a beautiful love story. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is a fun, romantic and heartwarming story. William and Olivia have been betrothed since they were children, but Willam has ignored Olivia for the past 15 years, so she thought that she was free. Then he shows up demanding to be married immediately, Olivia adamantly says no, and when he refuses to accept that answer, she sets out to scare him away by being the most inappropriate lady ever. This is romantic, unpredictable and very entertaining. Lord Griffin is chivalrous, honorable and stubborn. Emily is feisty, honest and vulnerable. When Emily and Griffin first laid eyes on each other they were both left stunned and breathless, and ever since that day they have been sneaking looks at the other. But that's as far as it was going to go, because he lived in Vienna, and she was on the shelf. While visiting in London after being gone for 6 years, Emily decided that she wanted to experience a kiss. At the next ball she went out to the garden with a man, intending to get one kiss, then go back inside. Griffin watched the two go outside, and it became imperative that he follow them, even though he didn't know why. When he saw that Emily was about to be kissed, he got angry and ran the man off. Then he kissed Emily. When the kiss was over they found that they had an audience, her mother, sister and aunt. The aunt immediately says that they need to get married, so Griffin...

An Imperfect Engagement by Alyssa Drake

This is a gripping, suspenseful and romantic story. This book continues the story of Benjamin and Samantha's relationship, and the hunt for the person that has been threatening her family. Samantha runs out on her engagement luncheon to find the missing treasure, only to be kidnapped, drugged and beaten by the man. Benjamin and Edward battle each other over who is responsible for her safety.  Most of the characters are a bit mentally unstable, their demeanors change °180 in the blink of an eye just because someone comments on it. There is drama and unforseen twists that keep you from being able to put the book down. I can not wait until the next book comes out. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Grace by Emberly Hart

This is an interesting and romantic story. After Grace's parents died she had no way to support herself, so she became a mail order bride. When she arrived in the town she was to be married in, she was told that the man she was to marry had died. He was the deputy sheriff and had been shot. Grace wanted answers about how and why her betrothed was killed so she walked to the sheriff's office to talk to him. Brock left her sitting in the full waiting room for hours before he spoke to her. After talking she asked if there was someplace she could stay and her her room and board, while he was thinking a couple of men in the waiting room offered to take her home. Brock didn't like that, so he decided to marry her himself. Troubles with replacing a deputy, and a jealous housekeeper keep them busy, too busy to be a couple. Grace is strong, smart and feisty, Brock is caring, protective and determined. The storyline is entertaining and all of the characters are interesting. I receiv...

This is amusing, romantic, entertaining and sweet. When Penelope doesn't find a husband at the end of the season, her parents decide to marry her off to the man who at one time was to be her father-in-law. Pen wants nothing to do with the old lecher, so she sets up a kidnapping, thinking that she'll be ruined and the old man wouldn't want her anymore. The problem with that is that she actually gets kidnapped, and Hugh, the rector in St. Giles, rescues her. She tells him why she is doing it and he agrees to help. A strong attraction between them tortures them because neither think it's possible for them to marry. And while Hugh is doing his best to be a gentleman, Pen is trying to get him to actually ruin her. Things don't go the way they're supposed to, a few twists dictate their actions. This is a quick, hot intriguing read. A ghost whisperer is hired to help take care of a ghost in the house the people planned to use as a B&B. According to her a ghost that causes trouble is just horny, and she provides relief. It's a fascinating idea, and kind of amusing. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. My Enemy Needs Me by J.P. Oliver

This is steamy, entertaining, emotional and romantic. Ethan is a tough, cocky construction worker. Mark, who suffers from partial atrophy in his legs, is a paleontologist excavating the site that Ethan's boss is supposed to be building on, he's caring and sassy. When they accidentally meet at a diner, and end up helping each other, they become friendly enemies, then lovers. But it causes a lot of problems for them, the other construction guys consider Ethan a traitor, and Mark's boss blames Ethan for Mark's constant tardiness and his slacking off. On top of that Ethan is dealing with his mother having Alzheimer's, and Mark's sister has cancer. They need each other to provide moral support, and end their loneliness. This is a thrilling, suspenseful and romantic story. Five years ago Tobias was a dock worker when he came home one morning to find his wife murdered, when he got himself together he became a bow street runner so that he could track down the murderer. He drinks a lot and is focused solely on revenge. Him being drunk contributed to his meeting Amelia, her carriage had run into him and he was unconscious. Amelia had her driver put him in the carriage, and when he woke up, he and Amelia ended up kissing, then he jumped from the moving carriage. Amelia is on her fourth season and had yet to find anyone interesting that she could love. Something about Tobias draws her to him, and makes her misbehave with him. There's a strong attraction between them that Amelia tries to explore, but Tobias is against it for so many reasons. And there's always the slasher to hunt down. When one of Amelia's suitors gets a bit too pushy Tobias comes to her rescue, and they make an enemy. A couple of...

Dakota SEAL by Lisa Mondello

This is a fast paced, entertaining and suspenseful story. Ethan is under suspicion of a drug theft, and the land he and Maddie planned to build their house on has been claimed by the oil company. Maddie has a hard time keeping Ethan from dragging her to bed all the time, and is a bit b*tchy about the land and house. It comes to a stunning conclusion that you don't see coming. Ache For Me by R.A. Black

This is dramatic, heartbreaking and entertaining. Kevin is an overwhelmed and frazzled single dad firefighter who is trying to keep his job for just a few more months, then he's opening a restaurant. Sabrina is a part time daycare teacher with a drunk and abusive father, and an abused and beaten down mother. They knew each other in high school, they fell in love, then she broke his heart when she broke up with him. Now they find themselves parent and teacher, friends and unsure lovers. So much of the past affects the present, they're both still in love, both have trust issues and both love his daughter Kim. Their relationship has it's ups and downs, especially when the past comes back to haunt them. I didn't love Kevin, at times he's an unfeeling jerk, but he really does love her. The Rogue's Bride by Jayne Castel

This is dramatic, heartbreaking and suspenseful. Alasdair and Caitrin friends in childhood, but then Alasdair realized that he was in love with her, but Caitrin was fascinated with his older brother Baltair. Alasdair proposed to Caitrin, but she turned him down, she told him that she wanted his brother. Alasdair was so heartbroken he ran off to join the war. Now he's back, because Baltair is dead, and he wants revenge against Caitrin. He humiliates her, is rude and unfeeling towards her and in general does everything he can to make her miserable. He was not a likable person through most of the book, then he turned into a real bastard. I'm glad they figure out that they're in love, but they almost lost their chance to be together. This is an exciting, fascinating and romantic series that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

The Cowboy's Son by Rhonda Lee Carver

This is dramatic, amusing, surprising and romantic. Ash is under the pressure of finding a wife, and he's trying to fight his attraction to Lexi, because he doesn't see the two connecting. And then someone drops a baby off claiming that he's his father. Lexi is a romantic who has saved herself for her soul mate, and she thinks that might be Ash, until the baby shows up, then she's confused. She is not thrilled with the thought that Ash could sleep with someone and then not remember her, but her attraction to him is so strong that she wants to be with him anyway. I love Ash and Lexi, he's sweet and caring and charming. Lexi is strong and vulnerable and caring. I can't wait for the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Filthy Irish by Frankie Love & C.M. Seabrook

This is amusing, sweet and romantic. Ewan is a 23 year old taking care of 5 of his younger brothers, and running a B&B. He's cocky, cheeky and desperate for help. Wendy is 22 and took the nanny job so that she could see Ireland. She's unsure but caring and determined. The boys are out of control and sassy. Being threatened with having their family torn apart by a nasty aunt isn't helping any. But Wendy is up to the challenge, but trying to control her feelings for Ewan is hard. It's a boisterous yet loving home, and neither Ewan nor Wendy want it to end at the end of summer. This is a fun series of nannies and their employers finding true love. This is interesting, romantic and heartwarming. Jax is a teen heartthrob actor who finds out that his manager has been keeping him in teen roles rather than being in more adult roles. He heads off to Higbee to see he northern lights, only he had a slight meltdown on the way which caused him to be a day late. After spilling hot coffee all over himself he ends up at Anthony's bakery looking for something to dry himself with. Anthony is a genius at making and decorating sweets, he's also agoraphobic. While cleaning up in the back of the bakery he hears Anthony talking to someone, and when he hears what it's about, he walks out front and pretends to be Anthony's new boyfriend. Afterwards they come up with an arrangement that helps both of them. Jax stays with Anthony where he can get peace and quiet, and pretends to be boyfriend to make another man jealous. They end up having some deep conversations and help each other see that they don't have to remain stuck in place, ...

Emily is stubborn but polite no matter how rude other people are, until she's had enough of people acting as if Rosalind was a nobody, and here other cousin, Percival, keeps harassing her to accept his marriage proposal. Emily has never liked Percy, and he's never been anything but rude and condescending to her. When the girls are out walking one day they meet Mr. Williams and Lord Evan. This is sweet, romantic, steamy and heartbreaking. Shaw is intense, amusing, tough and sweet. Atalee is stubborn, caring and protective. After trying to get the woman he loves, Atalee, to run away from her wedding to his friend to go with him, and her turning him down, he transfers to a different part of the state, then gets asked to join Ranger Ops. 2 years later he's in need of a shrink, and accidentally ends up with her. Now divorced, Atalee can't believe that she now has a chance to be with Shaw. Shaw's a little broken, but she's willing to do whatever she has to to make him better. While out on an op we get a quick visit from a couple of Knights, which makes a great book even better. This series is more intense than the Knight Ops series, but still has it's amusement. This is romantic, amusing and interesting. Troy and Erica are best friends, and have been for almost 20 years. Erica and Juliette are roommates. Juliette gets snarky with Troy constantly, and Troy just makes it worse by being cheeky to her. Troy's job is being a rent-a-date and when one of his clients starts stalking him because she wants him as a real boyfriend, he needs to do something. He decides to get a fake girlfriend to discourage her. He asks Erica, but Juliette points out that anyone who knew them wouldn't buy it, so Erica says Juliette could do it. Juliette doesn't want to though, because she's attracted to Troy. But she needs help with algebra, and Troy gets math easily. Juliette and Troy come up with a deal, she plays the fake girlfriend until stalker girl goes away, and Troy tutors Juliette until the end of the semester. This is hot, passionate and romantic. Finn is chivalrous, protective, stubborn and caring. Mia is naive, determined, tough and vulnerable. When Mia's bf starts to act too possessive she breaks up with him. But he wants to be with her, and he won't take no for an answer. Her mother tells her to ask her stepbrother, Finn, for help. She doesn't ask, but he shows up, and talks her into staying with him for a while. They were attracted to each other at their parents wedding, but it gets downright hard to ignore after she moves in. Finn is determined to ignore his attraction, but Mia wants to explore it. While they're figuring out what they feel and what they want, Mia's ex begins to get more aggressive, and dangerous to them. This is steamy, intense, entertaining and romantic. Haven is a bodyguard for a rich man's son, Alex, until Alex gets thrown out. Then he becomes Alex's sister, Mackenzie's bodyguard. Haven is responsible, stubborn, bold and charming. He takes his job seriously, especially when he's told to get Mackenzie out of the house as much as he can. Mackenzie prefers to stay in her room, it's safer, and no one can take her picture without her permission. She's determined, sneaky, innocent and cheeky. Haven begins by making her swim every day, and builds up to going to his wife's house for a bbq. Along the way he goes from watching her in the pool to wanting to take her virginity once she tells him she is one. His main job is checking for anything she can hurt herself with. Sneaking around so that her father doesn't find out about them leads to some very interesting ways to be alone. The end is very intense and emotional dealing with her having a mental illness. Hav...

This is steamy, intense and dramatic. Drew and Skye were best friends growing up, until the night they kissed. When Skye left for the N.Y. to become an artist he expected Drew to go with him, but Drew had other plans. Like marrying the woman his father told him to marry. 9 years later Skye comes back to town for the opening of his art exhibit. Within 5 minutes of being near him, Skye kisses Drew, and Drew kisses him back. Then he panics and tells Skye to leave him alone, that he's not gay. But he isn't sleeping with his wife either. Skye doesn't believe that Drew feels nothing for him so he keeps trying to get Drew to admit it. The harder Skye pushes, the more Drew pulls away. Drew is stubborn and uncaring. This is entertaining, steamy and romantic. David is a professor at a Christian college, and an author. Seb is a grad student at the college, and he edits David's books. Seb has been crushing on David for over a year, but didn't say anything  because he was unsure if the 20 year difference in their ages, and the fact that David was stuffy, would matter. Then one day he gets a visit from Alex, along with an invitation to a consort mixer. Seb considers the invitation, then decides that he'll take a chance asking David to date first. After David says no, Seb is determined to go to this party and find a man that will have him. When David shows up at the party, Seb loses it and goes off on him. In the end David is so angry at Seb he agrees to a trial run. But he still fights them being together. A series of events have them both considering the consequences of a relationship. It's a great story that pulls you in a little at a time, right up to the end when Seb gave in too eas...

Now, it's 9 years later, and Dean is back and Clara's boyfriend brings her to the Gulls first game of the final round of the playoffs. She tries to disguise herself so that Dean doesn't recognize her, but he knows that it's her anyway. It causes a problem between Clara and her boyfriend, and Dean comes to her aid. And both are struggling with the feelings they still have for each other. Dean is caring, protective and determined. Clara is feisty, stubborn and brave. The Rancher's Unexpected Nanny by Mary Sue Jackson

This is dramatic, amusing and interesting. Finn is a single dad rancher. Wendy is his daughter. Callie is Wendy's teacher. When Callie suggests that Finn get a nanny, he hires her. She never gets a chance to say no, so she just goes home, to find that she wouldn't have a home for long. She takes the nanny job so that she doesn't have to live with her parents. His daughter, and his dead wife's mother conspire to get them together. They do fall in love, but Callie's dream, teaching in New York, and Finn's dream of rejoining the rodeo, make a relationship hard. I'm not a fan of what they did next, Callie should have said no, but in the end everything works out like it should. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is funny, dramatic, sweet and romantic. Ruth is a romance writer who needs a new idea for her next book. One day she happens to see an ad for Irish brides from America to go to Ireland and marry Irishmen. Intrigued, she writes to the company, then some clients and she decides to go to Ireland for research. Things start off bad the minute she gets off the plane, and get worse as the day goes. Eventually she ends up at the front door of a B&B in the middle of the night soaking wet. Sean owns the pub and former B&B, and he lives above the pub. He's a charming, funny and cheeky guy he had his heart broken 3 years previously. When he opens the door and sees Ruth, he has no sympathy for her, he tells her that he'll call a cab, because his place is not available. He finally does let her in and shows her to a room. This is entertaining, romantic, suspenseful and dramatic. The first time Aaron and Eleanor met, he falled her a tomboy. The second time they met, he called her a spoiled tomboy. Now that she's fully grown he finds her fascinating, but irritating as well. Eleanor hates Aaron for the way he's treated her, but when a new friend asks her if she really does, she rethinks her feelings. It turns out that both are feeling an attraction, and both find the other irritating. While they are trying to figure out their relationship, a man that Aaron ticked off is looking to get revenge against him. Eleanor's father seems to be hiding a secret, and when Eleanor stumbles upon it her whole world is turned upside down. The storyline pulls you in, but it drags a bit in some places. This is a thrilling, romantic and intriguing story that is full of action and drama. Felicity is trying to find a husband, but the man must agree to her demand about giving to charities, with the hope of starting a foundation for children, but as yet she hasn't found one. She has one last man that interested her, Lord Raymore, a wealthy, older man whom she likes. But that's her night job, her day job is the design and maintenance of her brother Cole's racing carriage. She's the reason he wins, but he's given her one last race to ready for before she must give it up and be a lady full time. Giles is the best carriage driver, he never loses, so Cole hires him for the race, and then tells him that he must work with Felicity on the carriage. This story is much less traumatic than the other stories in the series, which is a wonderful change. It still has suspense, intrigue, romance and angst. When Gray returns from Edinburgh after being gone for 3 years, he thinks that Faith would have outgrown her hero worship of him, but that's not the case. And when he is affected by her he shocked. Faith is anxious to see him again, hoping that she can win his heart, but soon discovers that it might be too late, he is practically betrothed to Maeghan, the daughter of his mentor. Gray is torn about what to do, he wants to marry Faith, but doesn't know if he'll be allowed to walk away from Maeghan. Soon after Gray gets home he is ordered to go spy on, then report on, The Rising forces. It's decided that Faith will accompany him on this mission, posing as his wife. The Bride's Brother Bundle by Peter Styles and J.P. Oliver

These are interesting, entertaining, romantic and suspenseful stories. Most of the characters are likable and amusing, the ones that don't start that way end up that way. My favorite stories are The Bride's Brother, Road To Romance and The Prince's Passion, they're funny and romantic and sweet. The rest were good, just not as entertaining. This is amusing, romantic and entertaining. Toby is wedding planner who is planning the wedding for Hunter's sister Julia. Toby and Hunter are attracted to each other, but Toby, in the beginning, thinks that Hunter is Julia's fiancé. When Hunter seems to be flirting with him, Toby is appalled. Then Hunter asks him out on a date, and Toby is disgusted. It's not until Toby takes Hunter to task for trying to cheat on his fiancé that the truth comes out. Toby doesn't think it's a good idea to date Hunter because it could affect Julia's wedding. But they meet to discuss Julia's behavior, and things pick up from there. Julia is trying for a high profile society wedding while Toby and Hunter are trying to make it for herself. Things are up and down between everybody, Toby always caves to Julia and backs down when she's nasty, Toby loses more respect for Hunter when he doesn't stick up for himself or Toby and Hunter hasn't told his parents that he's ...

Comeback by June Winters

I'm not a fan of the cover, the story is much more serious than the cover implies. I am a huge fan of Jack. He's sweet, caring, protective, protective and generous,   and great with kids. This is twisted, steamy, suspenseful and romantic. Montgomery is a spoiled rich boy with no manners, no respect and no redeeming qualities who uses men for his enjoyment only. His father hates him and his mother won't claim him. Stone is a criminal who decides to kidnap Montgomery to get money from his father as revenge for things he's done. The kidnappers are like the keystone cops, only they're not really funny. Cocky, but incompetent, they manage to manage to make a mess of everything. After she arrived back in the States Wyatt placed himself in her life, he needed to make sure that she was okay. They became good friends, but he wanted more, and he was willing to wait for as long as he needed to. Outside of their relationship, there are problems with her family, his family and team sanctioned, and non sanctioned, missions.
