This is an engaging and romantic story. Geoffrey is somber, sad and cynical when he meets Julia. Julia wanted an adventure before putting herself on the shelf, and thought that he was just another rude American. While each of them fought their attraction to the other, for different reasons, they found themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Then they take off together to save her best friend from his brother, and in tight quarters. The drama really starts after that. And the twists. And the misconceptions.

The characters are interesting, and I really liked Garrett, but I thought that Savannah was weak and ignorant. The sub story of Grady is great, I really enjoyed it. This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
