This is another fun story of the Boot Knockers. Bastian is captivating, confident, romantic and amusing. Lil is sassy, strong, independent and stubborn. Bastian is determined to have Lil, Lil is determined not to have him, or any Boot Knocker. When Bastian finally eggs Lil on enough to bet against a week in his bed, she loses. He does everything he can to romance her, to win her. It's an entertaining courtship because he's confidently cheeky and she's snarky.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special.
