His Wicked Lady by Sharon Drane

This is more of a dramatic family saga rather than a traditional romance story. Will and Caroline are the main characters, but love and relationships are told of Lisette, Jayne, Drake, Will with someone other than Caroline and Caroline with someone other than Will. There are a lot of twists and surprises, suspense and drama. It's captivating and intense and amusing.
As for the characters. Will is a pompous snob. Caroline is American and doesn't care what the ton thinks of her, she's only in England to have an adventure. Will is constantly making digs at her. Lisette is a spoiled, naive young lady. Jayne is a sweet girl who was abused and Caroline rescues. And Drake is a nice guy who had his heart broken by his love's father and is pining for her. Some of the other characters are really great people, some are really bad people.
So all in all its a great book that should be on your TBR list.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
