The Duke of Lies by Darcy Burke

This is a sweet, romantic, captivating and entertaining story. Kit is fascinating, he's charming, kind, caring and honorable. Even though he planned on stealing from the estate, his true character showed. Verity is spunky, smart, independent, and caring, yet vulnerable. Kit needed money to buy a new ship, so he decided to take it from his father's estate. Only when he shows up, everyone mistakes him for the missing Duke, so he goes with that. He wasn't counting on finding the Dukes wife and son so irresistible and vulnerable, or finding that he'd care. It's a great addition to the series, and I recommend adding them all to your TBR list. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

The Enigmatic Governess of Buford Manor by Emma Linfield

This is a captivating story that full of sketchy characters, suspense and intrigue. Nicholas is a kind, generous, naive and charming man. Rose is a sweet, caring, strong and smart woman. After her husband's death, Rose takes a post as a governess for Nicholas's father. Nicholas, for the first time ever, finds himself attracted to a woman, but Rose has no interest in romance. Weird things start to happen when the man who informed her of her husband's death shows up. Death, illness and strife invade the mansion and while Rose investigates the unexplained death of her husband, Nicholas gets more involved with the man she thinks is responsible for it. There's not a lot of romance going on, but what does occur is sweet and loving. It's a fascinating story that I could not put down. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Vengeance by Anna Markland

This is an exciting, romantic, entertaining and enjoyable story. My favorite of the series so far. Ronan is kind, honorable and stubborn. Think is a little self absorbed and spoiled, but also caring and brave. Rhoni comes across Ronan as she's visiting the place of her birth when he washes up on shore barely alive, after losing his home and wife to invaders, and being tortured. Rhoni is instantly and intensely drawn to him, and him to her, until he finds out that she's Norman. As he recovers and makes plans for revenge, she hopes to convince him that they should marry. There is good drama, and bad drama, while former enemies learn to trust and become friends. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Redemption by Anna Markland

This storyline has so much angst, adversity, triumph and love. Caedmon was raised to be a proud, loyal Saxon, but he struggles to find his way in a land that is not his own. That is how he finds himself witnessing the slaughter of a Saxon family, which causes even more confusion. He keeps fighting with those who perpetrated the crime, until he almost dies. When he wakes from the injuries he suffered, he finds the most enchanting woman. Unfortunately for him, she is the sole survivor of the massacre he regrets, Agneta. She was taken in by the nuns when she was found alone and desolate at her home. He wants to take her with him when she leaves, but she hates him for the part he played in her family's demise. A year later he is fleeing the country he was raised in, and he arranges for them to marry. It's not exactly a happy marriage, there is attraction, but no forgiveness. Then he gets the shock of his life, and runs away to fight the Holy War. He finds family, and she discovers ...

The Scandal of The Deceived Duchess

This is an intriguing story that is full of drama, humor and romance, and is rich with history. (Too much history for my liking) Jonathan is bold, confident and chivalrous. Amelia is sweet, stubborn, somewhat shallow, snarky and smart. After taking over the ship that she and her maid were on, and finding out who Amelia is, Jonathan decides to ransom her. He thinks he's being a gentleman, she thinks he's a rake and a traitor. So all they do is bicker. Then Jake convinces Jonathan that she'd make a good wife for him, Jonathan vows to charm her. Not so easily done he finally consents to send her home. Then chases after her, but he's too late, the British have her. Time goes by and a friend convinces him to go to England to get her, and he ends up having to duel with her father. It is a really fascinating story, but I did skip through the parts of the history. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Eaden's Vow by Stella Knight

This is a captivating, dramatic and romantic story. Eaden is serious, dutiful and likable. Fiona is kind, brave and determined. Fiona goes to Scotland to regroup after breaking up with her fiancee, and suddenly finds herself thrown back in time, and embroiled in a clan war. Eadan, as Laird, decides to question her after she is discovered in the castle. Only he can't concentrate on the interrogation, he's distracted by the pull he feels towards her. Fiona's confused by her feelings for the man who threatens her, and the atmosphere around her. The war between the clans, and the betrayal of the servants, unite Eadan and Fiona. And the more time they spend together, the more they want each other. Intrigue and betrayal surround them while attraction blooms between them. It's a great time travel story and I can't wait to read the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Exclusive ARC. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

This is sweet, dramatic, amusing and entertaining. Robert is determined, bold, c*cky and stubborn. Bella is spunky, confident and caring. Robert is fascinated by Bella after she denies him, he see her as a challenge, and decides to teach her a lesson about life. Robert ignites Bella's fire by assuming that he can make her fall for him, and she decides to play him game, and win. Neither imagined that they would fall in love, and both fought it. The relationship is intense and very entertaining, filled with drama and angst. The side story between Isabelle and Quinn is romantic and sweet. Finding out who Catherine is is a shock. I enjoyed reading it and I look forward to reading more books by this author. I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Jared's Promise by Barbara McMahon

This is a heart-felt story of love, loss, friendship and responsibility. Jared is a man who is dedicated to living his life without ties. He's caring and honorable, but he's also very stubborn and short sighted. Jenny is sweet, kind, caring and determined. He hired her to be temporary nanny for his friends baby, but from the minute he sets eyes on her, she turns his life upside down. She grew up an orphan and resents his unfeeling attitude towards the baby. He thinks that he's doing what's best. They often bicker about his responsibility to the baby, she thinks his friend would want him to raise her, he thinks she's better off elsewhere. While his feelings gradually shift, he stays determined to back overseas. It does have a HEA, but he literally waits until the last minute. It's a must for your TBR list. Love was not supposed to be part of the bargain, freedom was. They soon realize that they have feelings for one another, unfortunately it's not a relationship that's without drama or sabotage. I love this couple, they are so easily likable and romantic. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Instantly attracted to each other, he procrastinates calling on her because someone is already vying for her hand. As far as she's concerned, the other man is a waste of time and she wants Sawyer. When they are together they are romantic and funny, when they're apart they're miserable.
