Deep Focus by Madisyn Ashmore

This is a dramatic story with a lot of players. Oliver is a little bit psycho, a lot secretive and completely obsessed. There also seems to be a cold darkness in him. Theo seems like a really nice guy, but there's something off about him. Scarlett is a survivor, but she has no backbone at all when it comes to Oliver and his manipulations. Angela is a jealous b**ch who likes to abuse the people she deems beneath her. The relationship between Oliver and Scarlett runs from hot to freezing in a matter of seconds, either he shuts down or she pushes him away. So far I haven't figured out if I like them as a couple.

The characters are interesting, and I really liked Garrett, but I thought that Savannah was weak and ignorant. The sub story of Grady is great, I really enjoyed it. If you've read Bertrice Smalls Skye O'malley saga, it's like that. I just get bored after too much drama.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
