The Laird's Reckoning by Jennifer Bray-Weber

This is a fast paced, exciting adventure. Birk was a sweet, fun loving man, until someone set him up to hang and he had to leave Scotland. It turned him into a hard, bitter pirate, but still he could not forget the love of his life. Sheena is a strong, responsible woman who had her heart broken by Birk. She can't forget him, or forgive him abandoning her. The storyline is exciting and engrossing, the characters are interesting and the end is very satisfying.

This is an amusing, heartwarming and romantic story. Simon is an honorable, charming and vulnerable man. Diana is sweet, caring and vulnerable. Simon believes that he killed his first wife and therefore doesn't deserve to be happy. But he believes in romance, which is why he chooses to be the person to tell Diana that she's being jilted by his best friend. He wants to help her overcome the scandal and when she decides to run from her tyrant father, he takes her. They get to know each other, and like each other, on their journey. It's very entertaining just how they get to know each other, and romantic and sweet. I love the whole series, but Simon and Diana are special. If you haven't added these books to your TBR list, do so. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
