I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Rayna and Brett meet in jail, she's there because she got caught pickpocketing, he because he's a halfbreed and the sheriff wanted to hang him for it. They go to the town near his ranch, where he finds the sister he just found out he had. Rayna starts working with the town doctor and Brett goes to his ranch. One day an old Indian ends up at the ranch, he needs help with some sick Indian orphans. Trouble soon shows up because Bretts neighbor doesn't want a bunch of Commanche around, even though they are kids. A war between Brett and the neighbor goes on, and he and Rayna get close, but he battles with himself because he doesn't want her to be hurt emotionally or physically because of him. This is a very good love story that gives a lesson in US history about how people treated Indians and those of mixed heritage. Both Brett and Rayna are broken inside and each tries to help heal the other. I couldn...

First Time With A Highlander by Gwyn Cready

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have to say, the reason I love time travel stories is because they always have at least a few funny lines because the way we speak now is not the way people spoke 200 years ago, and there are many things now that people had not ever thought of back then. It can be highly entertaining, which this book is. The sleeping beauty discussion was great, I could picture it in my mind. The story is about Gerard, who was born in the 20th century and Serafina, who was born in the 17th century. Serafina needs a man to impersonate her former fiancé, who stole her money, so she has a friend make her a potion to get one, Gerard happens to be the one. The two of them, along with a few friends, work to get her money back, but nothing goes right. The funny and folly make the book a must read. I look forward to reading a lot more from Gwyn.

Secrets In Blood by Patricia Eddy

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a well written story with a good plot and lots of action. It started a little weirdly with jumping way into the future a couple of times, but once the story really started it got hard to put down. Nicola and Evangeline originally meet when she is a child and he shows her more kindness than her father ever has, but in helping her he gets caught by her father and spends the next 18 years being tortured, while Evangeline gets experimented on. When Evangeline finds out that he is not dead, as she assumed, she breaks the two of them out of their captivity. The two then go after Evangelines father for making a serum that will kill all vampires. I really enjoyed reading this book, it's a very engaging story with characters you can get into.

Thunder On The Plains by Roseanne Bittner

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is an epic love story that spans years and life events. It is an interesting period in history and Roseanne does a wondetful job of weaving all the different aspects of the time period into Sunny and Colts story. I loved reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes romance and anyone who likes American history.

Happy Hour by Patrick Brown

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. On Jelly and Dillon’s wedding day Dillon is murdered. Is it related to an incident that happened 10 years before? When he police can identify no suspects the family turns to a friend, security expert Salem Reid. While Reid investigates we see the seedier side of life. It's not for the faint if heart, but it's a well told story with interesting characters and plot.

Dark Before The Rising Sun by Laurie McBain

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Newlyweds Rhea and Dante come back to England so that Dante can go back to his family's home. But Dante is targeted by murderous smugglers who despoiled his family home, while Rhea's father, the powerful Duke of Camareigh, vehemently rejects their marriage. This is the conclusion to the epic journey of Dante and Rhea, and the end is well worth the journey. To make it easier to understand it's better to read these books in order, but they can be read alone. I would recommend this book and this series to those who like some depth to their books. I enjoyed reading Dante and Rheas story to it's conclusion.

Berzerker by Theo Cage

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was a well written, interesting book. It's scary along the lines of Stephen King, because maybe it could happen. Sean and Tracy are trying to get their daughter Ashley to a hospital that has a new therapy for CF. But they encounter a heavy snowstorm and end up in the town of Berzerker. Strange things are going on there, and the people in charge think that Sean is a spy from a rival company. They try to get out if town, while the townspeople try to keep them in. I won't spoil the end, because it's a nail-biter, but I will say that I was kept guessing as to what would happen next. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes Stephen King.

Buffalo Trail by Jeff Guinn

This is an epic story about life in the old west. Quanah, is a Commanche War Chief, who is trying to help his tribe survive. Cash McLendon is a heartbroken man trying to find his way in the harsh conditions of the west, and a way to win the woman he loves. Along the way we meet Bat Masterson and Billy Dixon and other historical figures. The story revolves around a buffalo hunting gang and an alliance of Indian warriors that includes Comanche, Cheyenne, and Kiowa, and is led by Quanah. What follows is a bloody tale about survival. Guinn has a way of telling a story in a way that keeps you turning the page to see what will happen next. I was given a free copy of this in return for an honest review. I'm not a fan of history, but I enjoyed reading this book.

The problem is that Ross thinks Sara can never forgive him for not protecting Meredith and Sara thinks that she woud be a terrible Duchess because she does not enjoy society, and she thinks a Duke needs a wife who likes to entertain and go to balls. It is a wonderfully written story with characters you can't help but like. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books by Sharon. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

The Surrogate Husband by Wynter Daniels

This was a great read. A little romance, a little angst and a little comedy. Lucy needs a husband temporarily, because her mother told her great aunt, who they thought was dying, that she was finally married and settled. No big deal, until Aunt Bev comes to town. Lucy asks Dex, her CPA, if he'd be her husband for a family wedding, which turns into a weekend family reunion, which turns into Aunt Bev moving closer to the family. They need to come clean, but they are afraid for her health. So while they are "playing" husband and wife, they each start to have feelings for the other. But Dex doesn't like risk takers, which Lucy is, and Lucy doesn't like take control kind of guys, which she thinks Dex is. Can they keep pretending for Aunt Bev? Should they? Laugh, cry and find out.

Josette by Kathleen Bittner Roth

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book, it was exciting and full of drama. Josette ran from her roots and Cameron is running from his future when they meet. There is a very strong connection between the two from the very first moment that they meet. The characters are likeable and the story is so engaging that it was hard to put down once I picked it up. There is never a dull moment and I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Chance The Winds of Fortune by Laurie McBain

She is a beautiful young woman who is being courted by the Earl of Rendale. Lucien Dominick is a powerful Duke and has a lot of enemies, one of which is his cousin, Kate Anders, who kidnaps Rhea after the death of her twin, Percy. Kate has always resented Lucien, believing that she and Percy should have gotten Camareigh. So she has Rhea sold into slavery. Dante Leighton, is captain of the privateer Sea Dragon and the Marquis of Jacobi. When Rhea escapes from her she finds herself on his ship. Adventure is the highlight of the story. The details make it somewhat hard to get through at times, but the story is a good one.

First of Spring by Kelsey Jordan

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book even though it started off being confusing because it's the 3rd book of the series, but it didn't take too long to figure it out. The characters were all fully realized and the mythology and society well thought out. Trent is the acting Mikko, or leader of the Order of Rockys, an elite warrior class of Lycans. Aryana is a princess from another pack who is sent to Trent for training. There are plots within plots, and just when you think something will go a certain way, you find out you are wrong. It's intense and very well written with well developed characters.

Blind Trust by Peri Ann

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It was a very intense book. The dynamics between Kyle, Spirit, Janet, Nixon and Rick are amazing. While everybody is trying to kill everybody else, we see Spirit and Kyle start to forge a bond, but life is conspiring against them and they are always at cross purposes. While I liked this book, it seemed to drag on a bit. There are a lot of details, a lot of plot twists and it was very well written.
